mawe is designed to close the gap between a pleasant home at low price and the expenses for energy consumption, combined with high quality of life. Housing facilities with good thermal insulation, very low energy consumption at economic prices is an answer to the continuous increasing difficulties with fossil fuels and the decreasing availability of it.
 

 

Concept, strategic decisions

Fast to built up, low cost, low energy consuming, no special tools needed, Individual sizes, starting with 20 m² up to 60 m² and even more – this is the basic concept for mawe. All decisions and further developments have to follow these criteria.

The house can be equipped with sanitary facilities, drinking water, waste water, electricity etc. if the appropriate infrastructures are available on site. Further equipment is available like ventilation, cooling and heating. No particular preparation of the basement is required. Two hours of assembling and you will be ready to get in.

Adding more single units to a bigger one allows the appropriate selection for special services like school classes, meeting rooms, unit for medical care and assistance, common social units like laundry etc.

All these facilities and the enormous flexibility make it also suitable as units for catastrophic events, where immediate help is needed and where one has to face the emerging need of the concerned people to stay under a stable roof and protected against cold temperatures and bad meteorological conditions.


The question of sustainability

mawe is in its totality a sustainable object, as well as equipped home as for emergency situations. It is also certified for it. The extreme low energy need is a basic ecological and sustainable factor. Although the panels are made at the moment with fossil components (polyurethane foam), they have a live cycle of more than 20 years and can be fully recycled. It is a challenge for the further development to be substituted with other materials not deriving from fossil origins.
